Another great gig last Saturday at The Savoy in London where our 8 piece band performed for a young doctors party. 
A photo booth was set up in our bandroom and, never shy to miss a photo opportunity, the band was the first in the kiosk to try it out. Slightly different from the beautiful photo taken at the Waldorf two weeks ago, but nonetheless unique and once again all of us smiling. A great gig last Saturday at the Hilton Waldorf London, where Simply Swing played for Susan and James’ huge Indian/Irish wedding reception with over 300 guests. The band was treated to the most amazing curry and we all had a smile on our faces (see the wonderful photo by Maria Murray).
Tomorrow night (29th June) the band will be performing at The Belvedere in Billericay, open to the public, tickets £9 on the door 8 pm start. Hope to see you there!
The 6-piece Simply Swing Band at the Waldorf
Well now that the wedding season is underway, we have had some great gigs so far this summer with many more coming up including this weekend at the renowned Waldolf in London. Our swing band can be seen live at a public event on Wednesday 29th June at The Belvedere in Billericay. See our gigs page for more details. Simply Swing is thrilled to announce that its saxophone player – Simon Bates – is now available as a solo saxophone player for weddings, corporate events and all social occasions. Simon provides an eclectic mix of jazz standards, contemporary pop and even some ‘chillout’ in his repertoire. Available as a solo sax player with professional backing tracks and ideal for a wedding drinks reception.

Another busy week for Simply Swing which saw the trio backing the fabulous Garth Bardsley in his wonderful Anthony Newley Story cabaret show. Then off to Dorking for a wedding at The Parrot Inn with the 5 piece and finally a wedding at the super French restaurant in London – Coq D’Argent.
We’ll be doing a public performance on Tuesday 17th May at The Loxwood Jazz Club in West Sussex.

Another great night at the Belvedere last night when the band performed a Strictly Ballroom Dance Night. We played EVERYTHING in the perfect ballroom and latin american dance tempos solely for dancing. The band included Steve, Sandra, Simon, Rob and our time man – Jeff. The evening featured a latin american dancing cabaret from Ryan and Robyn Marsh who did a great job in demonstrating the Jive, Cha Cha, Samba and Rhumba. Once again, the evening was filmed by Iain (who’s quickly becoming our resident video man!) and the video should be live on YouTube in the next few weeks. We’ll keep you posted.
