At the beginning of this month, we performed at an amazing charity fundraising event for MIND, the mental health charity. Set in our home town of Farnham Surrey, the evening was full of fun with great food, a full bar, a charity auction and four amazing bands.

We had an absolutely great time and a staggering amount of money was raised for the Charity – in excess of £10,000 – which, given the small scale of the event (only 250 personally invited guests) was incredible.
We’re no stranger to charity fundraising events. Indeed we have performed at some splendid gala events in grand ballrooms up and down the country but it was so refreshing to play to a smaller crowd and for a personal friend of ours who put on this event to raise awareness of mental health issues which are close to her heart.
Setting the tone and mood for the party, Simply Swing was the first band to perform, playing the early set from 5.30 pm outside under the gazebo. We pitched up with our beautiful white baby grand piano shell (just to add a dash of glamour to the proceedings) and set the mood beautifully as the guests arrived.
Booking A Band For A Charity Event
Each year we are in discussions with various charities to perform for their fundraising event. As well as adding value to your charity event, Simply Swing will keep the dance-floor busy which, in turn, keeps the bar busy and the money rolling in!
Most of our charity events tend to be a black tie affair, with dinner, dancing, and a charity auction. Themed events have always proved a popular option and can be anything from a Masked Ball, a James Bond themed event, to a Moulin Rouge evening. Whatever the theme, Simply Swing will tailor the music to suit. There is often other entertainment at these events including casinos, magicians and a cabaret.
