Simply Swing Band at Savile Club London Wedding
The Simply Swing band was absolutely delighted to be asked to do our very first Savile Club London wedding, in Mayfair, for Diana and Danny.
A Brief History Of The Savile Club London
The Savile Club is a private Gentlemen’s club founded in 1868 by the most distinguished writers and artists of the day such as Robert Louis Stevenson, Thomas Hardy, HG Wells, Rudyard Kipling, Compton Mackenzie, Max Beerbohm, WB Yeats and today’s members include, amongst others, Stephen Fry. The building is a fine 18th Century house right in the heart of Mayfair.
Music was also represented by other luminaries such as Charles Villers Stanford and Edward Elgar.
The Simply Swing band was indeed honoured to have been asked to play within the walls of this historic building.
Simply Swing Plays First Dance
The band opened the dancing with the couple’s first dance choice, an old Nat King Cole and, more recently, Michael Buble favourite – L-O-V-E. – and had the party in full swing with a packed dance-floor for the duration of our stay.
Oh and did I mention there was a photo booth at the venue too? We never miss an opportunity to squeeze ourselves into a booth and wear funny hats. Photo courtesy of www.photoautomattey.com
